BUILDING IDEAS - MJP ARCHITECTS
'Buildings Ideas' the MJP monograph is a record
of the practice's work since its inception in 1972.
Profusely illustrated with over 800 photographs and drawings ‘Building
Ideas’ discusses and explains over 150 projects by the practice.
The book is not a conventional chronological account of projects described
sequentially, but a series of themes, which engage with subjects such as
geometry, history, conviviality, and materiality – each of which
enables the projects to be examined in different ways.
The monograph includes an anthology of over 30 essays by Richard MacCormac;
prefaces by Richard Murphy, Colin Stansfield Smith, Richard Burdett and
Francis Duffy; and chapter introductory essays by Bryan Lawson, Robert
Harbison, Richard Sennett, Margaret Richardson, Peter Davey and Richard
Cork
