MJP Architects
is an architectural practice established in 1972 and located in Spitalfields,
London.
The practice changed its name from MacCormac Jamieson Prichard in
June 2008 and has been owned by an Employee Benefit Trust since October 2007.
The practice works in a wide variety of sectors and on projects of
differing scales; from exhibition installations to masterplanning and
from furniture to public spaces.
Every project is initiated within the practice by small, highly motivated
teams led by a director or associate. We see design as a critical iterative
process subject to continuous development and evaluation. This process
is maintained through regular design reviews which involve other members
of the office to ensure a level of objectivity and critical appraisal.
The open plan layout of our offices and the non-hierarchical structure
of the practice promotes an awareness amongst staff of the development
of each project and a shared aspiration to achieve excellence.
Our work has been published in all the major UK architectural titles,
including Architectural Review, Architecture Today, Architects' Journal,
Building and Building Design, as well as magazines in Germany, Japan,
Italy, China and the US.
Richard MacCormac set up a new consultancy in his own name in February 2011. MJP and Richard continue to collaborate on some projects while Richard undertakes other work in his own right. Richard continues to work in MJP's Spitalfields office.
