MJP Architects were first commissioned in 1989 to prepare a masterplan for the East Site of Queen Mary and Westfield Collegešs campus on Mile End Road, London. The East Site faces the canal and Mile End Park, so it was designed to enable the majority of rooms to enjoy the prospect over the College Green and Mile End Park.
MJP have since designed and completed six projects for the College, including a teaching building and approximately 600 student rooms over 13 years involvement. Two difficult urban infill sites were also developed for residences.
MJP's low budget Informatics Teaching Laboratory won an RIBA award.
