The circular form of the chapel lends itself to seating a congregation in an intimate, focused group. Up to 136 people can be seated in a conventional aisled arrangement.
The chapel is at first floor level and, while it can be entered directly from the cloister, late-comers have their own access and the Chaplain has his own stair from the vestry. This stair can also be used for dramatic or musical occasions.
The predominant materials in the interior are oak, white render and white concrete. Only concrete could produce a structure of this kind and the material is finished in various ways rough like rusticated stone at the lower level with slender, highly polished, columns rising to support polished beams.
